Adrian Cann
Adrian Cann is a director of Cannon Asset Management Limited in Guernsey, which was established in 1997. He was born and educated in London. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1968. Since qualifying he has worked in commerce and in practice with Coopers & Lybrand and Deloitte Haskins and Sells. After three years in Johannesburg with Deloitte he moved to Botswana where he stayed for 13 years and became the senior partner of Deloitte”s Botswana practice.
He moved to Guernsey in 1990 and after six years with Town Mills Trust Company Limited as Managing Director, and main board director of the Ashburton Group of companies he resigned to become a founding member of Cannon. He also held the position of a main board director of Thames River Capital Holdings Limited and a director of a various number of underlying Thames River Funds, Thames River Capital is a fund management company with USD 9bn under management and which has recently been acquired by F&C Investments.

Alison Damarell, MAAT
Born in Guernsey Alison was educated locally at La Mare de Carteret Secondary School. After gaining an AVCE in Business Studies at The Guernsey College of Further Education, she joined Cannon in September 2002. Since joining Cannon she has also obtained her membership with The Association of Accounting Technicians and gained the STEP Foundation course.
Alison has been part of many areas of Cannon, dealing with new business, investments and company accounts before she took a break in 2007 to travel, returning to Cannon as a trust administrator in 2009. She was promoted to team leader in August 2011 and is responsible for managing a team of four whilst administering her own portfolio of clients.

Arthur Evans
Arthur Evans studied at Durban Technikon Natal, South Africa passing the Southern African Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators exams in 1993. He moved to London where he pursued a career in Accounting. He worked with several organisations before finding employment with Interactive Data Corporation, (previously named FT Interactive Data) based in London, for 15 years. He qualified as a practicing member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2005. He moved to Guernsey in May 2009 to join Cannon Asset Management Limited. Arthur”s current responsibilities include accounting and administration management. He was appointed a Director in 2011

Cathy van Vliet
Cathy van Vliet was born in Kenya, moving to Scotland for a time before settling in South Africa in 1969. She studied at the University of Witwatersrand where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Education. She joined the University of the Witwatersrand as an administrative assistant, and later became a Senior Personnel Officer in the academic staff recruitment department. She worked at J Murray & Chamberlain, an accounting practice, being responsible for the internal administration. Other projects included lecturing school leaving students at Rosebank Secretarial College in Office Administration & Life Skills. She was also engaged to review the academic staff salary scales at the University of the Witwatersrand. She joined Cannon, on relocation to Guernsey initially as a supervisor of client administration teams but has since been made a Director.

Chris van Vliet, BA(Hon) ACA
Chris was born in Johannesburg and was educated at St David”s Marist College until the age of thirteen when he moved to Guernsey with his parents. In Guernsey he attended Elizabeth College where he completed his schooling. He was made Deputy Head boy in his final year there. He then graduated from Bournemouth University with a BA (Hon) Degree in Accounting and Finance.
He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in Guernsey where he completed his articles and was admitted as a Charted Accountant with the ICAEW. At PwC he worked on a number of high profile funds. After 5 years he left PwC to join Cannon as a Senior Accountant and in July 2012 he was promoted to the position of Team Leader. His position includes the responsibilities of overseeing a company and trust administration team, Cannon Capital Advisors and its associated funds, the record keeping of Cannon Trust Limited the South African trust company and its subsidiaries, and Client relationship management. Chris has extensively travelled though out Southern Africa where he has gained an understanding of the challenges faced by the people in the different regions.

Dale Hubber-Richard
Dale Hubber-Richard is a highly qualified and experienced investment specialist with over 15 years of experience dealing in offshore and onshore environments for both institutions and individuals. His experience spans work for stockbrokers, private banks, institutional consultants, private equity portfolios and life assurance investment departments. Dale has worked for major global and UK firms, delivering products or services to the UK, France, Luxembourg, Guernsey, Jersey and Singapore. Prior to working in Guernsey he spent over six years in London in financial services which included private equity investing. He was appointed a Director in 2011.

Jane Menzies, TEP
Jane Menzies is native to Guernsey and on leaving full time education locally, joined a Captive Insurance firm as an Office Junior before moving into the Secretarial department of a Trust Company. Within six months, a trainee position opened in the Trust department which Jane accepted and after two years joined Cannon Asset Management Limited as an Administrator.
Jane has been with Cannon for over twelve years and during this time has achieved the IFS Certificate in Offshore Administration and the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioner”s Diploma. Day to day duties have included the ongoing administration of Trusts, Companies and Managed services, training new recruits and leading a team of Administrators. Whilst continuing to administer a small portfolio of clients, Jane”s current role is in the Projects Team assisting with client reviews and other internal matters.

Jeff Corbet
Jeff Corbet was born in Guernsey and was educated locally before joining a small local financial services company as Computer Operations Manager. In 1976 he moved to North Wales before moving to Paris where he became the technical instructor in a private Language Centre.
In 1985 he moved back to Guernsey and into the finance sector with Saffrey Champness in Trust and Company administration and was then sought by a client to become the General Manager of their international tour operations and Managing Director of their local entity. During this time his prime responsibilities, apart from building up the travel operations, were treasury management and foreign exchange dealings. In early 1995 he joined Town Mills Trust as a senior manager before leaving and becoming one of the founder members of Cannon Asset Management Limited.

Jenna Cowley BA(hon) TEP
Jenna was brought up and educated to A level standard in Guernsey, She then completed a BA (hons) degree at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, before returning to Guernsey in 2005. Having started her career as an administrative assistant for Rothschild Trust Company and then with the Bachmann Group, she moved to Cannon Asset Management Limited in June 2008 as a Trust and Company Administrator.
While at Cannon, Jenna has completed the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management. This prestigious qualification and Jenna”s previous number of years experience gives her the ability and responsibility to look after and maintain a complex and challenging portfolio of clients and be an integral part of the expanding fund administration team.

Julie Gallienne
Julie Gallienne came to live in Guernsey when she was seven with her mother, who, along with her brother, was born in Guernsey. She was educated locally and completed a full time 3 year secretarial course before leaving school to work in the finance industry. This included Kleinwort Benson and National Westminster and various other financial institutions before running her own business as a newsagent.
Julie has been with Cannon for 4 year and deals with all aspects of setting up new accounts, from collecting the relevant documentation, information and client due diligence documents to buying shelf companies and opening bank accounts. She is a key member of staff in the collection and collation of key documentation that is a regulatory requirement under Guernsey regulations.

Julie Phillips, Dip (ITM) TEP, Int Dip (Comp)
Julie began her career in the insurance industry moving into Trust and Company Administration in 2000. She initially worked for Cannon between 2001 and 2003 and returned to Cannon as an Assistant Manager in February 2008. She has worked in several areas within Cannon and while continuing to maintain a portfolio of clients her current role includes Assistant to the Directors and maintaining responsibility for all insurance matters.
Julie has achieved the Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance and the Certificate of Insurance Practice, the IFS Certificate in Offshore Administration, the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management and the ICA International Diploma in Compliance.

Kay Coulson
Originally from Germany Kay worked in Switzerland for two years before relocating to Guernsey in 1991. She worked for C.A.N. Limited, an administration company for option trading in Guernsey, and later for the Guernsey Branch of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, where she was employed as an administrator in the Treasury Dealing Room as well as filling the role of Personal Assistant to the General Manager.
Kay has been with Cannon Asset Management Limited as an Investment Administrator since June 2007 and her duties include the placing and settlement of trades. She also deals with numerous stockbrokers both locally and internationally and has a wealth of knowledge in the necessary arrangements to settle trades for a variety of portfolio assets.

Kevin Wakeham, MICA
Kevin Wakeham is qualified with an ICA diploma in International Compliance. Born in Guernsey, he was educated at Elizabeth College and joined the finance industry in 1976. After a number of years working for a clearing bank he moved into private offshore banking with the Royal Bank of Canada where he obtained experience in banking operations, treasury and internal audit.
After 11 years he moved to Banque Belge to set up the Internal Audit department, however due to company mergers he moved to set up the compliance department at Old Mutual in Guernsey. Here he gained valuable experience in understanding the South African culture and market place until moving back into banking with Rothschild Bank Switzerland (CI) Limited for several years.
Due to re-structuring he has since been involved in Trust and company work for a number of Trust companies and Banks before joining Cannon Asset Management Limited in March 2011 and appointed Head of Compliance and MLRO. He was appointed a Director in 2011.

Richard van Vliet
Richard van Vliet obtained a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree at the University of the Witwatersrand and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in Johannesburg in 1983. On leaving Price Waterhouse he became the sole proprietor of an audit practice in Johannesburg, with work biased towards international mergers and acquisitions, taxation and financial structures. From 1995 until mid-1997 he also represented the Jersey General Group, an offshore investment group of companies, in Johannesburg.
He relocated to Guernsey in August 1997 as a founding member of Cannon Asset Management Limited where he is now the managing director. He currently holds the chairmanship of The Cubic Property Fund, a Channel Islands Stock Exchange listed fund, and previously Cannon Asset Managers (Pty) Ltd, prior to the group sale of this investment management company which is registered in South Africa. He also held the position of a main board member of Thames River Capital Holdings Limited, a fund management company with USD 9bn under management and which has recently been acquired by F&C Investments.

Triona Barrett
Originally from Ireland, Triona studied at the Sligo Institute of Technology. Having visited Guernsey on numerous occasions at a young age, she moved to the island permanently in 2007, following extensive worldwide travel.
Triona has been with Cannon Asset Management Limited since September 2007 as a trust and company administrator. Since then she has obtained an International Diploma in Financial Administration. In August 2011 she was promoted to team leader. Her day-to-day responsibilities include managing a team of administrators, while also administrating a complex portfolio of her own clients. Triona”s experience gained in the corporate environment makes her an enthusiastic and key member of staff.
